Rain compounds woes; conditions worsen in Gurugram, Delhi, Mumbai, and several other states.
The monsoon has gained momentum across the country, but the rainfall—initially a source of relief—is now turning into a crisis in several states. Roads in Gurugram were inundated, leaving numerous vehicles, including school buses, stranded in the water. Heavy rains led to waterlogging and traffic jams in various parts of Delhi-NCR. In Mumbai, public access to Marine Drive had to be restricted due to high tide, while flood-like conditions were reported in Palghar, Bhiwandi, and Navsari. Heavy rainfall also disrupted normal life in Karnal, Dehradun, and the Kotputli-Behror region of Rajasthan.
