Monsoon rains have compounded the woes of residents in the JK Ashiyana area—also known as ‘Gadda Colony’—falling under the Kareli police station limits. Due to the area’s low-lying terrain, rainwater not only accumulates on the streets but also seeps into people’s homes. Conditions become so severe that residents struggle to step out of their houses and face difficulties in meeting even their daily needs. Whenever it rains, water flowing in from surrounding areas collects here, and the rising water from the streets gradually makes its way into the homes.
