Rivers in Spate Across Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Bhadohi; Ghats and Homes Submerged!

Continuous rainfall in both hilly and plain regions has caused several rivers in Uttar Pradesh—including the Ganga and Yamuna—to swell. The situation is worsening in Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Bhadohi. In Varanasi, the rising water level of the Ganga has submerged a large section of Namo Ghat. Meanwhile, in Prayagraj, water levels in the Ganga and Yamuna are steadily rising due to persistent rain and the release of water from upstream dams, raising concerns of inundation in Daraganj and low-lying riverside areas. Similarly, the water level of the Ganga in Bhadohi has also been rising rapidly for the fourth consecutive day.
