Navapada area ke hundreds residents, men aur women, park me ikattha hue aur demolition ke khilaf awaaz uthayi. Unka kehna hai ki administration ne holiday period me eviction notices diye, jisse unke paas legal response ya help ke liye time nahi tha.
Forest department ne drive launch ki un families ke khilaf jo pehle rehabilitation programme ke tehat Chandivali, Powai me shift ho chuki thi. Officials ka kehna hai ki kuch families ne apne allotted homes bech diye ya rent par diye aur fir SGNP me wapas aa gaye. Forest department kehta hai ki ye legal action hai aur rules todne wale families ko target karta hai.
Activist Aslam Shaikh ne kaha ki Adivasi communities SGNP ka important part hain aur decades se forest ke saath apna life chala rahe hain. Shaikh ne question kiya ki government proper planning ya survey ke bina eviction kar rahi hai.
