Patna, Bihar: There is nationwide outrage over the incident involving the mistreatment of a Class 10 student in Jamui. Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, has launched a scathing attack on the Samrat-led government regarding this incident. PK remarked, “It is heinous and horrifying. The crime committed against a young girl by individuals engaging in self-appointed social and moral policing demonstrates that the fear of the government has vanished from society. The accused were wearing the so-called ‘saffron scarf’ and had taken it upon themselves to act as social police. The police state that action will be taken against those who circulated the video, yet no action is being taken against those who actually committed the crime. PM Modi’s slogan is ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter). But I say—save and educate your daughters yourselves… because the government isn’t going to do anything.”PK also reacted furiously to the statement made by Minister Shravan Kumar, who dismissed the incident as “sporadic.” He said, “This reveals his mindset. If this is a sporadic incident, then what was the incident involving the NEET student? What about the attempt to drag a girl from Begusarai away from her father in front of a hotel? What about the murders of Roshan Yadav, Bunty Yadav, and so many others? If these are sporadic incidents, then what constitutes a horrifying incident? Do tell us that, too…”
