Supreme Court Issues Four Major Orders: “Right to Protest” and Mandate for Police Investigation
The Supreme Court has issued a significant interim order regarding the student protests against the NEET paper leak. The Court affirmed that peaceful protest is a constitutional right of every citizen. It directed the immediate release of protesters under the age of 18 who have no prior criminal record. Additionally, orders were issued for an independent investigation into police actions, accountability for the use of excessive force, and the preservation of digital evidence such as CCTV footage, drone recordings, and body-worn camera footage.
