Talks between the government and CJP conclude; full consensus reached on two out of three demands.
Protests have been ongoing for several days at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following the NEET paper leak; significant deliberations are now underway to bring these protests to an end. After 26 days, activist Sonam Wangchuk has ended his hunger strike. He broke his fast at the hands of Union Minister JP Nadda after receiving written assurances from the government regarding several issues, including NEET. Meanwhile, on Friday, two government ministers—JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh—held a meeting with leaders of the CJP. The government is making a concerted effort to engage in dialogue with the protesters; Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh held talks with CJP representatives. Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka participated in the meeting on behalf of the CJP.
