Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav is set to meet the incarcerated Azam Khan in Rampur. The prospect of this meeting has already caused political temperatures to soar in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav asserts that the BJP government has subjected Azam Khan to grave injustice, and the Samajwadi Party will continue its efforts to ensure justice for him. Meanwhile, Maulana Shahabuddin has taken a dig at Akhilesh Yadav, stating that no Muslim pays heed to Azam Khan; today, Muslims cast their votes and extend their support based on their own conscience and judgment. The BJP, on the other hand, remarks that with elections approaching, Akhilesh Yadav has suddenly begun to ‘remember’ Azam Khan, the Muslim community, and the madrasas.
