The parliamentary deadlock persists; the NDA demands answers from Rahul Gandhi, while the opposition insists on a statement from Amit Shah.
With the final day of the Monsoon Session approaching, the political standoff between the government and the opposition shows no signs of abating. Uproar was witnessed both inside and outside Parliament, with the ruling party and the opposition engaging in intense protests and slogan-shouting. Opposition MPs, led by Priyanka Gandhi, staged a protest against the government at the Makar Dwar. The opposition cornered the government over the theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir and demanded a statement from Amit Shah. Meanwhile, NDA MPs demanded an explanation from Rahul Gandhi regarding the lathi-charge and police action against students in Ranchi. Amidst the commotion in the Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla appealed to the MPs to allow the House to function and urged them to uphold the dignity of Parliament. All eyes are now on whether Home Minister Amit Shah will respond to the opposition’s allegations in the House and whether the deadlock will be resolved on the final day of the Monsoon Session.
