Traders in Delhi are highly anxious ahead of a Congress rally, fearing losses of ₹10,000 crore; they have written to the Congress president.

With a major rally by the Congress and the ‘INDIA’ alliance scheduled for November 1 at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, anxiety among traders has intensified. Disgruntled traders staged a protest at Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate. Furthermore, they have written to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, requesting that the rally be held after Diwali. The traders point out that footfall in markets increases significantly during the festive season; a large-scale rally could disrupt traffic and hinder access to markets, thereby negatively impacting business. Meanwhile, the BJP has extended its support to the traders’ demand.
