UP and Bihar Inundated! Rivers Swollen, Villages Submerged, People in Distress
The threat of floods looms large from UP to Bihar! Amidst continuous monsoon rains, rising water levels in rivers such as the Ganga, Gandak, Son, Pandu, and Punpun are causing the situation to deteriorate in several areas. In Kanpur, the swelling Pandu River has caused water to reach homes in approximately 11 localities, prompting the NDRF to take charge of rescue operations. In Prayagraj, 22 villages are affected by the rising waters of the Ganga and Yamuna. The Ganga is flowing above the danger mark in Munger and Bhagalpur, while in Arwal, water from the Punpun River has reached villages and the local police station premises. Families living along the banks of the Ganga in Chhapra are also bearing the brunt of the floods.
