Uproar over demolition of 100-year-old Hindu temple in Pakistan; Bajrang Dal protests in Jammu
The issue regarding the demolition of a Hindu temple—over a century old—in Pakistan has escalated. The temple was located in Siraj village, in the Narowal district of Pakistan’s Punjab province. Local residents and minority organizations have alleged that the temple was demolished to merge its land with a nearby madrasa. Individuals linked to the banned hardline organization TLP have also been accused in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the Pakistan government claims that the temple collapsed due to heavy rains. Protesting against the demolition, the Bajrang Dal staged a massive demonstration in Jammu and raised slogans against Pakistan.
