Student protests followed by police lathi-charges have almost become a routine affair. In Bihar, the opposition, alongside students, called for a ‘Bihar Bandh’ to protest against the NEET paper leak. Chaos ensued in the capital, Patna, during the event; it is alleged that protesters threw stones at police personnel. Consequently, the police used force to disperse the crowd, ultimately resorting to a lathi-charge against the demonstrators.
