Voting underway for Bankipur by-election; Prashant Kishor’s allegations heat up the electoral atmosphere

Voting is currently underway for the high-profile Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar. Voters have been exercising their franchise since 7 AM. The by-election involves approximately 3.79 lakh voters, with 164 polling stations and 422 booths set up for the process. Stringent security arrangements have been put in place. The main contest is seen to be between the BJP’s Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Jan Suraaj’s Prashant Kishor, and the RJD’s Rekha Gupta. During the voting, Prashant Kishor accused the police of harassing Jan Suraaj workers, while the BJP dismissed these allegations and claimed victory. Meanwhile, voters are casting their ballots based on issues such as development, employment, and local concerns.
