Will Aaditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh apologize or pay ₹500 crore? Defamation notice issued

The Disha Salian case in Mumbai has become a complex puzzle, with several prominent names surfacing in connection with her death. Now, Disha’s father, Satish Salian, has sent a defamation notice worth ₹500 crore to Aaditya Thackeray and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The move follows a case recently registered by the CBI based on a complaint filed by Satish Salian. The notice takes issue with specific statements made by both leaders. Satish Salian has demanded an apology, the withdrawal of statements, and compensation of ₹500 crore, giving them a seven-day deadline to comply. According to the notice, Aaditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh leveled false and malicious allegations regarding Satish Salian’s statements and legal actions, characterizing the demand for an independent probe into Disha’s death as politically motivated. It further alleges that Aaditya Thackeray interfered in the court proceedings initiated by Satish Salian, questioning not only the legal aspects but also Salian’s intentions and credibility; meanwhile, Anil Deshmukh dismissed the petition filed by Satish Salian as a conspiracy to defame Aaditya Thackeray.
