24-hour power supply in Gujarat’s rural areas under the Jyotigram Yojana is accelerating progress

Gujarat: The provision of 24-hour electricity in the state’s rural areas is making life easier for residents and giving new momentum to development. Under the Gujarat government’s Jyotigram Yojana, regular and reliable power is being supplied to villages and rural settlements. This has facilitated the work of individuals engaged in machine-based activities and those in the dairy business. At the same time, students now have a better environment for studying late into the night. According to the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, over 78,000 kilometers of new power lines and approximately 18,700 transformers have been installed to ensure quality power supply. The benefits of this scheme have reached 18,065 villages and more than 16,000 rural settlements across the state.
