Ahead of Diwali, the central government has approved a 78-day bonus for approximately 11.40 lakh railway employees. According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, this bonus will entail an expenditure of about Rs 2,009 crore. It has been decided that 11.40 lakh railway employees will receive a 78-day bonus. For the purpose of calculating this ‘Productivity-Linked Bonus’ (PLB), the maximum monthly salary limit has been set at Rs 7,000. Based on this, the maximum bonus amount for 78 days comes to Rs 17,951.
