A ‘Supreme’ setback for the Central Government: Supreme Court refuses to stay its earlier order regarding the OBC ‘creamy layer’.

The Supreme Court has adopted a new stance on the matter concerning reservation and the ‘creamy layer’ within the OBC category. While hearing a clarification plea filed by the Central Government, the Court directed all parties to submit their responses by September 17, 2026, and refused to stay its previous order.
