The “duo of two boys”—referring to Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi—was a major talking point in UP politics. This dates back to the 2017 elections, when the Congress and the Samajwadi Party formed an alliance to contest against the BJP. Although both lost, the “two boys of UP” tagline became quite famous. Now, nine years later, BSP supremo Mayawati’s nephew, Akash Anand, has taken a dig at that tagline. While addressing an election rally in Hathras, UP, BSP National Coordinator Akash Anand launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the SP. Taking a jibe at Akhilesh Yadav, he remarked, “Akhilesh is not ‘Bhaiya’ (brother); he is ‘Uncle.’ As a 30-year-old young man, I would naturally call a 50-year-old man ‘Uncle’.”
