Amit Shah called for a “drug-free Punjab”; the AAP hit back, while the Congress targeted the Mann government…

Politics surrounding the issue of drug abuse in Punjab intensified on Wednesday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the concluding event of the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’ (Drug-Free Punjab Campaign) in Jalandhar. He targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab over the drug menace, stating that the state is grappling with this problem due to the AAP government’s mismanagement. Shah asserted that the campaign launched by the BJP is not a political agenda but a mission to save Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party has launched a counter-attack following Shah’s statement, while the Congress is targeting both the BJP at the Centre and the AAP government in the state.
