Aradhana Mishra takes charge of UP Congress; chaos erupts at the induction ceremony…
Ahead of the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress high command has implemented a major organizational change. Aradhana Mishra, the party’s MLA from the Rampur Khas constituency, has been appointed as the new UP Congress chief, replacing Ajay Rai. While the party acknowledged Ajay Rai’s contributions, the transition sparked a fresh controversy. A ceremony was organized at the Congress headquarters in Lucknow for Aradhana Mishra to assume office. During the event, a heated exchange broke out between the supporters of the outgoing state president, Ajay Rai, and other leaders. What began as a minor dispute quickly escalated into a major altercation, with party workers from both sides clashing with each other. Intense shoving and slogan-shouting ensued within the office premises. Sensing the gravity of the situation, senior Congress leaders Pramod Tiwari and Imran Masood rushed to the scene and pacified the agitated workers; the situation has since been brought under control.
