Bipasha Basu Slams Body-Shaming Trolls: “Memes Don’t Define Me”
Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has delivered a powerful message to online trolls who attempted to body-shame her following her post-childbirth transformation. The actress, who embraced motherhood in November 2022, responded with grace and strength, making it clear that memes and trolls do not define her.
The criticism surfaced after a viral Instagram reel showcased before-and-after images of Bipasha, highlighting her weight gain post-pregnancy with the background track “Night Changes.” The post attracted negative comments targeting her appearance, prompting Bipasha to speak out.

In a strong comment on the post, she wrote:
“Hope the human race does not remain so shallow and so low forever… and they encourage and applaud women for the million roles they play each day.”
Bipasha emphasized that she remains confident and secure, surrounded by an evolved and supportive partner, actor Karan Singh Grover, and a loving family.
“Memes and trolls do not define me ever… nor did they make me who I am. But these are deeply disturbing reflections of society towards women,” she stated.
The actress also highlighted the emotional damage such trolling can cause to others, especially new mothers navigating physical and emotional transitions.
“Another woman in my place could be deeply affected and scarred with the viciousness,” she added.
Her statement resonated widely, especially after beauty influencer and former Miss India Shweta Vijay Nair addressed the unrealistic standards imposed on women post-pregnancy. Bipasha joined the conversation, calling for more solidarity among women.
“If we have more strong voices and at least women understanding and applauding women for who they are, then women will rise higher and higher. We are unstoppable ladies.”
Her husband, Karan Singh Grover, also showed support with a heartfelt Instagram post:
“We should be putting all the women we know and love on a pedestal… They are the gods/goddesses we should pray to. Nothing else could have created something as beautiful as life.”
