BJP hits back at Congress rally; plans to bring in families of 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims
Political tensions have intensified ahead of the Congress party’s proposed rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1. The BJP has launched an offensive against the Congress, linking the rally to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The BJP plans to organize events in Sikh-majority areas to protest against the rally, involving families of the riot victims. In this regard, BJP leader Nitin Naveen has held a meeting with Sikh leaders in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Congress has countered by framing the BJP’s opposition as a sign of Rahul Gandhi’s political success. A political confrontation may unfold in Delhi on November 1, as the Congress rally coincides with the BJP’s planned protests.
