Clash between ruling and opposition parties over violent youth protests in Patna; police action underway
New Delhi: Political tensions have escalated following the violent protests that took place in Patna, the capital of Bihar, on July 22. While the ruling coalition attributes the unrest to an opposition conspiracy, the opposition accuses the government of ignoring the demands of the youth. The opposition also created an uproar in the Legislative Council over this issue. Meanwhile, the police have swung into action against the violent protests and are detaining the demonstrators. Additionally, there appear to be differing opinions among leaders within the NDA regarding the protests.
