A major disturbance broke out on Sunday at Kolkata’s Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI). A dispute arose between students and members of the Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat (ABGP) regarding an event. The situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation and violence. Reports indicate that several students and two faculty members were injured, necessitating the deployment of a large police force at the scene. Students allege that ABGP members assaulted them for opposing the event; they also claimed that some female students and teachers were subjected to mistreatment.
