‘Clean Route’ for Kanwariyas in UP: Meat Sales Halted and Liquor Shops Covered Along Kanwar Route

The Kanwar Yatra has commenced with the beginning of the holy month of Sawan. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict directives to keep shops selling meat, fish, eggs, and non-vegetarian food closed along the Kanwar routes and to cover liquor shops with tarpaulins. These orders are being strictly enforced across seven districts, including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Saharanpur. Surveillance is being maintained along the entire Kanwar route using CCTV cameras, drones, and 24/7 control rooms. Comprehensive arrangements have been made regarding policing, traffic management, medical facilities, and security.
