Flight from Thailand to Delhi hit by turbulence; several passengers injured

An Air India flight traveling from Phuket, Thailand, to Delhi narrowly avoided a major disaster. Reports indicate that the aircraft suddenly dropped 300 feet, causing injuries to several passengers. Air India flight AI2379 encountered severe turbulence on Tuesday; the plane began to shake and suddenly dropped, causing passengers to be thrown against the cabin ceiling. Some passengers sustained head injuries during the incident. However, the pilot managed the situation and safely landed the aircraft at Delhi Airport.
