Haryana plunged into darkness as 40,000 employees go on strike; public takes to the streets over power and water shortages
From Ambala to Gurugram, Haryana is in the grip of a severe power crisis. Approximately 40,000 electricity department employees and engineers are on strike, disrupting power supply across numerous cities and villages. The outages have triggered water shortages in households and are adversely affecting businesses and industries. The impact of the crisis is being felt across the state—from Gurugram, Faridabad, and Nuh to Sonipat, Rewari, Jhajjar, Karnal, and Ambala. In many homes, inverters have run out of power, while the lack of electricity has also disrupted water supplies.
