Continuous rainfall and rising river water levels have intensified the flood crisis across several states. In Madhya Pradesh’s Mandla, the Narmada River is flowing above the danger mark, while roads, farmlands, and homes have been affected by flooding in Jajpur (Odisha) and Ghatal (West Bengal). The water level of the Ganges is also rising rapidly in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, putting the administration on high alert. In view of the situation, SDRF, Home Guard, and relief-and-rescue teams have been deployed, and people are being urged to stay away from rivers and waterlogged areas.
