Delhi Master Plan 2047 Released; Target Set to Build 40 Lakh New Homes Over Next 20 Years
The Delhi Master Plan 2047 has been released, setting a target to construct 40 lakh new homes over the next 20 years. Rekha Gupta states that a higher Floor Area Ratio (FAR) will open up new avenues for redevelopment, simplified provisions will facilitate the expansion of amenities, and the ‘Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Makan’ (housing at the site of the slum) initiative will give new momentum to the dreams of poor families owning permanent homes. Meanwhile, Union Minister Manohar Lal describes the Delhi Master Plan 2047 as a comprehensive roadmap for a developed and well-organized Delhi.
