Hisar court complex rocked in broad daylight; gangster carrying ₹7 lakh reward riddled with bullets

The Hisar court complex in Haryana was shaken by a flurry of gunfire. On Thursday, gangster Vinod Panu—alias ‘Kana’—was riddled with bullets in broad daylight while appearing for a court hearing. Two of his associates were also shot. Two bike-borne assailants carried out the attack; however, Vinod’s associates chased down and apprehended one of them. The sudden incident sparked a stampede within the court complex, with lawyers and litigants scrambling for safety. Police arrived promptly upon receiving the information and rushed the two injured men to the government hospital, where doctors declared gangster Vinod Panu dead. According to the police, 14 rounds were fired during the incident. The police have arrested one accused, and a search for the second suspect is underway.
