Home Minister Amit Shah issues a clarion call in Jalandhar, Punjab, and sets a deadline for a “drug-free Punjab”…
The BJP has launched its election campaign in Punjab, with Home Minister Amit Shah himself sounding the poll bugle. As part of this, he visited Jalandhar and addressed a rally. In his speech, Shah fiercely criticized the Bhagwant Mann government, alleging that the Aam Aadmi Party has pushed Punjab into the grip of drugs—specifically ‘Chitta’. He declared that the BJP would contest the 2027 elections on the agenda of a drug-free Punjab. “I make a promise to the youth of Punjab: vote for the BJP, and we will make the state drug-free before December 31, 2029.”
