Imran Khan approaches Bombay HC against ‘Leave India’ notice; Shiv Sena and BJP target the actor

Actor Imran Khan has approached the Bombay High Court to challenge a ‘Leave India’ notice issued by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), which directs him to leave India by October 28. Describing the notice as arbitrary and unconstitutional, Imran Khan has requested that it be quashed and stayed. The matter stems from a protest held in Mumbai on October 10 against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, during which Imran Khan was taken into custody. Following his challenge to the notice, political rhetoric surrounding the issue has intensified. The Shiv Sena and the BJP have targeted the actor, while Purnia MP Pappu Yadav remarked that the court is now his only recourse.
