INDIA bloc divided over delimitation! After Akhilesh, now Supriya offers conditional support—has the path become easier for the NDA?
Even before the start of the Parliament’s monsoon session, differences within the INDIA alliance regarding the delimitation bill have begun to surface openly. While the Congress is vehemently opposing the bill, its allies are signaling support subject to certain conditions. A recent statement by NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule has heightened concerns for the opposition; she indicated that her party is willing to discuss and support the bill if the central government provides a written assurance regarding a 50% increase in Lok Sabha and Assembly seats. Consequently, the delimitation bill is set to become a litmus test for the unity of the INDIA alliance.
