Interstate Cyber Gang Arrested in Ajmer, Rajasthan; Massive Fraud via Online Games

Police have apprehended members of an interstate gang based in Ajmer that was defrauding people across the country through online gaming scams. In a joint operation conducted on July 13, the Ramganj police and the district cyber cell arrested the accused—Ramakishan (alias Prakash Bhinchar), Kailash, and Gopal Dukiya. According to the police, Ramakishan is the gang’s ringleader. Reports indicate that the accused ran advertisements for short online games (lasting one or two minutes) on social media. Individuals who clicked the links were asked to deposit money upfront under the pretext of playing the game or winning a prize. Once the victim transferred the funds, the accused would shut down the website and cut off all contact. To evade police detection, the accused directed the fraudulent proceeds to “mule accounts” rather than their own personal accounts.
