An Eeco van, carrying people returning home after attending a *tilak* (engagement) ceremony, collided head-on with an oncoming trailer truck. The impact was so severe that the van was completely mangled. Six people lost their lives in the accident, while two minors sustained critical injuries. Five members of the same family are among the deceased. A pall of gloom has descended upon the village following the tragedy.
