Major decisions at Congress CWC meeting: Demands range from CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation to halting the SIR process.

A crucial meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) took place in Delhi, lasting approximately two and a half hours. Presided over by Mallikarjun Kharge, the meeting was attended by several senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. During the meeting, the party passed three major resolutions addressing issues related to the electoral process and voter lists; these included demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, an immediate halt to the SIR process, and the restoration of 13.3 crore names allegedly removed from the rolls. Additionally, the Congress put forward five key demands: making public all data regarding changes to voter lists, providing notification and an opportunity to appeal to voters whose names were removed, sharing electoral data with political parties, conducting an independent inquiry into serious discrepancies, and ensuring transparency in the election process.
