Major preparations for the 2036 Olympics: PM Modi calls for increased Indian participation across all sports.

On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a bold vision for India’s sporting future from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Reiterating the resolve to host the 2036 Olympics, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to boost participation in sports across the board. He stated that India must advance in sports where current participation is low or where the country often fails to qualify. Additionally, plans were announced to launch a talent hunt program for children aged 5 to 15, aiming to identify and nurture sporting talent from an early age.
