Major revelation in UNSC report: Al-Qaeda’s new affiliate AQIS behind Red Fort blast

Desk: A significant claim has emerged in the 38th report by the UN Security Council’s monitoring team regarding the blast that occurred near the Red Fort on November 10, 2025. According to the report, Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS)—a regional offshoot of Al-Qaeda—was behind the attack. The report also highlights that the terrorist organization is operating through small cells to evade security agencies and is now utilizing AI and modern technology for tasks such as bomb-making, target selection, and language translation. Meanwhile, concerns have also been raised regarding organizations like ISIL moving towards the development of biological weapons. The NIA investigation into the matter is ongoing, and a charge sheet has been filed against 13 accused individuals so far.
