While both leaders described the encounter as a courtesy call, Sanjay Raut offered the sharpest reaction. Expressing strong displeasure, Raut stated that while Sharad Pawar is a prominent leader, it was inappropriate for him to hold a meeting in the cabin of Eknath Shinde—a man who has infected Maharashtra with the “vermin” of corruption and betrayal. Was the entire Vidhan Bhavan not available? The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) headquarters and the Shiv Sena Bhavan are located right across from the Vidhan Bhavan complex. Sharad Pawar is according respect to “traitorous” leaders; this undermines his party’s credibility.
