No respite for criminals under Yogi’s rule; a series of encounters across three districts
The Uttar Pradesh Police’s aggressive crackdown on criminals continues. A series of encounters across three districts has struck fear among miscreants. In Jewar, two suspects in the murder case of Imran were injured during a police encounter. In Amethi, a notorious thief named Vakil—alias Senapati—who faces 32 criminal cases, was wounded by police gunfire; his brother was also arrested. Meanwhile, in Mainpuri, a suspect accused of robbery, Abhimanyu—alias Raja, alias Honey—sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. In all three instances, the suspects were injured when police returned fire. The police have also recovered illegal weapons, ammunition, stolen jewelry, and a car that had been looted.
