One dead following firing by an ASI in Madhubani; Tejashwi Yadav raises questions, says “protectors have turned into predators”

Madhubani, Bihar: The police force in Madhubani is once again under scrutiny. Villagers allegedly caught an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in a compromising position at a woman’s house; the ensuing confrontation escalated, leading the ASI to fire four rounds from his service pistol. One villager died in the shooting, while three others are battling for their lives. The accused ASI has fled the scene. The Bihar government has now announced a reward for information leading to his arrest and has deployed the Special Task Force (STF) to track him down. Meanwhile, the incident has also triggered a political row, with Tejashwi Yadav raising questions regarding the state of law and order in Bihar.
