Amidst the Monsoon Session of Parliament, the issue of student protests and the subsequent police action has taken a political turn. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the central government during a press conference. Kharge alleged that the protesting students were subjected to brutality and that the police attacked them with spiked batons. The opposition has also demanded that the Home Minister provide a response regarding the entire matter in Parliament.
