Politics heats up over the murder of a utensil trader in Gonda; Minister Sanjay Nishad sits on a protest against his own government.

Political activity intensified on Friday following the murder of utensil trader Vinod Sahni in Gonda. Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad, who arrived in Gonda from Lucknow, staged a sit-in protest at the Collectorate. District Magistrate (DM) Priyanka Ranjan arrived at the scene and sat on the ground to speak with him. Nishad called off the protest only after considerable persuasion and assurances of action. Subsequently, he met the family of the deceased, Vinod Sahni, and assured them of all possible assistance.
