There was a massive uproar in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi speaking fiercely in the House. While addressing the Anti-Paper Leak Amendment Bill, she targeted the incumbent Education Minister, Prahlad Joshi. She alleged that a person had been appointed to this post who had consented to the release of those convicted of raping a pregnant woman. During the parliamentary discussion on the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi stated, “Prime Minister Modi has chosen an Education Minister who expressed consent and happiness over the release of the convicts who raped a pregnant woman.” Following this statement, BJP MPs interrupted her; however, continuing her address, Priyanka Gandhi took a dig at the high-powered task force constituted by the central government to reform the education sector. She remarked, “Merely forming new committees will not suffice; not a single recommendation of the Radhakrishnan Committee has been implemented to date, and the new committee includes a former IB chief, an IT company owner, and even a ‘cow urine expert’.”
