Rivers are surging from UP to Bihar, sparking panic as floods submerge homes and streets!

The arrival of the monsoon has brought a host of troubles. States with the country’s largest populations—such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan—are reeling from floods and heavy rainfall. In some areas, villages have been inundated, while elsewhere, roads are heavily waterlogged; people’s fields and homes face the constant threat of erosion. There appears to be no immediate respite from these conditions; according to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area and the monsoon trough are currently active over parts of North and Central India. A low-pressure system formed over north-western Madhya Pradesh and the surrounding regions is driving the rainfall. Simply put, active weather systems are currently generating rain, so the wet spell is likely to continue across Central and Eastern India for the next few days.
