August 5th marks the date when Articles 370 and 35A were revoked in Jammu and Kashmir. On August 5, 2019, the Central Government took a historic step by ending the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcating the region into two Union Territories: Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
