Following an overnight sit-in protest by Ankita’s parents and Congress leaders, the Delhi Police took decisive action early this morning and placed them all under detention. While Ankita’s parents were released after a few hours, several others—including Congress leader Pawan Khera and various party workers—remain in police custody. Notably, prior to this, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had visited India Gate to meet with Ankita’s parents, assuring them of their full support.
