Severe Floods in Nepal: Torrent from Tibet Causes Devastation; Rescue Operations Underway
A sudden surge of water flowing from Tibet has wreaked havoc in Nepal. In Rasuwa district, the raging Bhote Koshi River has engulfed numerous homes, roads, and bridges. Debris-laden floodwaters have caused extensive damage across several areas. Following this severe flooding, a large number of people and tourists have been reported missing. Relief and rescue operations are proceeding on a war footing, with helicopters being deployed to evacuate those stranded in affected areas. This disaster in Nepal has also raised concerns in India. Anticipating a rise in water levels in rivers flowing from Nepal, authorities in several vulnerable districts of Bihar have been placed on alert, and NDRF teams are standing by.
