Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, leaders of the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP), have been granted bail. The Delhi Police had requested an extension of their custody by three days, a plea that the court rejected. The two had been in judicial custody for eight days and were presented before the SEM (Special Executive Magistrate) court for a hearing. The court’s order stipulated that their release could be secured upon furnishing a personal bond. Both leaders have since been released from Tihar Jail.
